Gran Alacant Weather in Summer

Gran Alacant summers are typically very hot with little to no rainfall. Summer temperatures in Gran Alacant will mostly be between 25 degrees Celsius to 35 degrees Celsius during the day. Summer temperatures rarely drop below 15 degrees Celsius.

August is the hottest month when the weather in Gran Alacant can reach over 40 degrees Celsius on some days. Happily there are often cooling sea breezes, and the Apartment is equipped with air-conditioning in the open plan lounge/dining room/kitchen, and all rooms have multi speed ceiling fans. The fantastic communal pool is a great place for a cooling dip.

No need to run in doors though, the terrace has a shaded area for alfresco dining.

As Gran Alacant’s humidity is low you won't feel the temperature is as high as it really is. So it is sensible to cover up and keep out of the direct sun between 12 o'clock and 3 o'clock. Always wear a high factor sun cream especially when on the beaches.

Gran Alacant weather in the Winter

Gran Alacant is very mild in the winter compared to northern Europe. Most winter days are clear and sunny. The temperatures on the Costa Blanca can fluctuate significantly in winter however, one day it can be t-shirt weather with over 20 degrees Celsius temperatures, and the next it may drop below 10 degrees Celsius and feel very cold.

If you are visiting the Apartment in winter the air-conditioning also heats the Apartment, and there are further standalone heaters. Property in Spain is built so that they are cool in summer and therefore to disperse heat. The floors in particular can be very cold to bare feet, take slippers and jumpers for the cool evenings.

Even in the winter it doesn't rain much in Gran Alacant and November is the wettest month.

Gran Alacant Climate

Gran Alacant is situated at the heart of the Costa Blanca where The World Health Organisation describes the climate as one of being the best in the world. Gran Alacant's summers are hot but not too hot due to the cooling breezes and the winters in Gran Alacant are mild with many clear blue sunny days. Gran Alacant's climate and weather is very healthy especially for sufferers of arthritis and asthma, we also see a significant improvement in our sons eczema every time we visit the region.
